Nymex hunts senior exec to guide metals trading

Dec 28, 2007 | 11:18 AM | Sean Barry

The New York Mercantile Exchange is looking to name a senior metals executive as the exchange moves closer to launching its steel futures contract.

Details about the new position are thin, but traders said the appointment is expected to strengthen the status of metals trading within the exchange, which is viewed as more focused on energy-related products.

It comes as the exchange is now expected to roll out its financially settled U.S. steel futures contract sometime in the first quarter next year.....
