Ladish allocates up to $20M for casting facility in Mexico

Aerospace components producer Ladish Co. Inc. is looking for further expansion outside the United States via a new titanium casting facility in Mexico and is naming a veteran of more than 25 years to head its main forging operation.

Ladish, based in Cudahy, Wis., will invest $16 million to $20 million to build a new investment casting foundry in Mexico to produce titanium components for customers in that country and other global markets.

Kerry L. Woody, president and chief executive officer, said Ladish's backlog is approaching a record $600 million. That, "coupled with build-schedule requirements locked in by an array of long-term agreements," has prompted Ladish's move into Mexico, where recent reports have indicated an increase in that country's aerospace manufacturing base.....
