Big Turkish buys can’t stop heavy melt slide

U.S. exports of No. 1 heavy melting steel scrap slipped slightly in July despite a huge spike in the tonnage headed to Turkey.
Overall, exports of No. 1 heavy melt totaled 216,207 tonnes in July, down less than 0.5 percent from 217,223 tonnes the previous month, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. Exports through the first seven months of this year were off by 20.1 percent to 1,420,048 tonnes from 1,777,969 tonnes a year earlier.....
