Utility offers $1,000 reward for theft information

Detroit Edison is offering a $1,000 reward "for information that leads to the arrest of anyone who steals copper wire from the utility."
Since thieves don't profit from their activity until they sell it to someone, eventually most of that copper ends up at scrapyards.....
