Sept. scrap exports to China reach new high

U.S. scrap metal exports in September receded a bit from the record dollar value set in August, but shipments to China inched upward to a new high.

An overview of steel and iron scrap, copper, brass and aluminum scrap puts the September grand total at $835 million as against a month-earlier $858 million and a year-earlier $476 million. The figures were released Thursday by the Commerce Department.....
