Arca cites housing slowdown for weaker earnings results

Appliance Recycling Centers of America Inc. (Arca) said third-quarter sales of nearly $20.8 million were essentially unchanged from the same period last year, but net income fell by more than half to $21,000 from $47,000 in the same comparison.
The Minneapolis-based recycler said nine-month sales of almost $48.8 million were up 2.3 percent from $47.7 million a year earlier, but the company posted a net loss of more than $1.1 million in contrast to net income of $18,000.....
