Brass ammo trends lower in military scrap auction

A one-year contract for brass ammunition scrap in Texas attracted a top bid of $1.97 a pound last week, a 13-percent retreat from the $2.26-per-pound weighted average for two similar military contracts awarded early in the month in Washington state.
Both unit values include a 10-percent premium paid by buyers using the online auction platform of Government Liquidation LLC, Scottsdale, Ariz., which runs the military scrap auctions.....
