Corus’ profits surge in third quarter

Corus Group Plc posted operating profits of £171 million ($333 million) in the third quarter, more than double the £75 million it made a year earlier, as market conditions improved.
Net profits from continuing operations almost quadrupled to £117 million ($228 million) from £32 million in the third quarter of 2005, Corus said, as turnover reached £2.49 billion ($4.85 billion), up 3.5 percent compared with the second quarter of 2006 and up 4.2 percent from £2.38....
