Novelis invests in multi-alloy casting at Korean plant

Novelis Inc., Atlanta, said its Korean joint venture, Novelis Korea Ltd., plans to invest $4.1 million to install Novelis Fusion casting technology at its Ulsan, South Korea, facility.
The Novelis Fusion casting center at Ulsan is expected to be operational by mid-2007 and will have an initial capacity of more than 25,000 tonnes. "Commercially, this investment will open the door to a new range of high-end product offerings in Asia," Jacquie Bartlett, vice president of sales and marketing at Novelis Korea, said.
