Global hot-roll coil shortage, rise in export prices likely WSD

Global export prices for hot-rolled coil stand a high chance of rising in the first half of 2007 on a shortage resulting from strong economic growth, according to World Steel Dynamics Inc. managing partners Peter F. Marcus and Karlis M. Kirsis.

There is a 65-percent chance of a global shortage and price rise in hot-rolled coil by mid-2007, Marcus said by video-link at the 4th Steel Success Strategies Europe conference, hosted by World Steel Dynamics and AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.....
