LME eyeing ’07 launch of steel futures trading

The London Metal Exchange is looking to introduce a financial tool to trade steel futures in 2007, according to Liz Milan, the exchange's project director for steel.

Her statement appears to contradict one made late last week by Martin Abbott, LME chief executive officer, that he would be "surprised" if a steel futures contract could be brought to the market next year (AMM, Dec. 1).....
