Smelter prices for aluminum scrap inch up ahead of January scramble

Smelter buying prices for aluminum scrap have moved up slightly on modest volumes.
"The availability of material is just not that plentiful," one smelter's scrap manager said. "Most of the calls made for material were me going out. Calls coming in (from yards) were almost nonexistent."
AMM's pricing table moved three items up by a penny a pound Old sheet and cast to a range high of 75 cents, turnings to a range high of 76 cents and painted siding to a range high of 76 cents.....
