Codelco Norte kicks off labor talks with offer of 2% pay hike

Chilean state copper company Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) has offered workers a 2-percent pay increase as it seeks to negotiate a 40-month contract at its Codelco Norte division.
The next three weeks promise to be tough for the world's largest copper producer as it negotiates to close the gap with workers, who are demanding an 8-percent pay increase and want a 36-month contract.....
