Seasonal slowdown puts a hold on steel import prices

U.S. steel product import prices at the Port of Houston held the line for the most part during the past week as buying patterns slowed due to what several traders called a typical seasonal slowdown.
"There is not much activity, and that's the good news," one trader said. "During the third quarter, Houston was almost sunk by the amount of imports we had at the port. That stuff has started to dry up."....
