Rima offering silicon in US for 1st qtr. of ‘07

Brazilian silicon producer Rima Industrial SA has re-entered the U.S. market and is offering material for the first quarter of next year, market sources said.

The Brazilian producer stopped exporting to the United States shortly after Globe Metallurgical Inc. filed an appeal in August a decision by the U.S. Commerce Department to exempt Rima from a standing anti-dumping order on silicon metal from Brazil.

The U.S. International Trade Commission voted Nov. 15 to end those duties, making Globe's appeal moot and clearing the way for Rima to re-enter the U.S. market, sources said.....
