Samuel drives for western US with deal to buy Esco’s EMG unit

Samuel, Son & Co. Ltd., Mississauga, Ontario, is moving into the western United States with the acquisition of an engineered metals group known as EMG from parts manufacturer Esco Corp., Portland, Ore.
The transaction is expected to close Dec. 29, a Samuel spokesman said. The purchase price was not disclosed.
EMG's 107 employees will be offered employment, said Samuel executives, who described EMG as the largest independent distributor of commodity, processed and engineered stainless steel products in the western United States.....
