Scrap exec developing theft reporting system

A Canadian scrap executive is building a speedier mousetrap in an attempt to track down metal thieves and hopefully curtail not only thefts but also the push by cities and police to impose onerous and often fruitless reporting requirements on the scrap industry.
Brad Rudover, manager of Davis Trading & Supply Ltd., a Vancouver, British Columbia,-based scrap metals processor, is working to develop a system that will be accessible to anyone victimized by thieves—whether a major corporation or the "average Joe who discovered that someone removed his porch railing overnight."....
