Galvanizers band together in bid to fight consolidation in industry

More than a dozen after-fabrication galvanizers have banded together to form the Independent Galvanizers Cooperative (IGC) in an attempt to protect small, independent companies from the current wave of consolidation in the metals industry.

"Industry consolidation ongoing for the last decade has become a serious threat to smaller galvanizers that want to remain independent," said John Gregor, IGC's chairman and president of Folsom, N.J.,-based American Galvanizing Co.....
