US cold-finished bar producers keep eye on Chinese imports

U.S. manufacturers of cold-finished steel bar are keeping a cautious eye on levels of Chinese imports, which have surged since the middle of 2006.
According to the Cold Finished Steel Bar Institute (CFSBI), preliminary figures for October and November show that about 1,300 tons and 3,700 tons, respectively, were imported into the United States. Also, between July and September, Chinese imports averaged roughly 2,000 tons per month, according to the Washington-based trade group.....
