Recycling legislation fails to pass Congress

Despite being shot down in Congress this year, legislation that would provide tax credits and depreciation incentives to purchasers of recycling equipment remains in the sights of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.

ISRI will continue to push the legislation in the next Congress, it said. "While this legislation did not pass this session, ISRI has forged new working relationships with the recycling community in Washington....
