Commodity investment to keep growing Barclays

More investors are pouring increasing volumes of cash into commodities, according to a survey unveiled by Barclays Capital in New York.

New products and increased transparency in commodity markets are luring new investors and encouraging existing players to increase their holdings, according to Kamal Naqvi, director of commodity sales in New York for Barclays.

"There has been a steep increase in the issuance of commodity-linked products," Naqvi said, serving both to broaden the base of investors and increase the number of ways they can gain exposure to commodities. "Investors are showing strong interest in commodity products. I think there will be a lot of interest in a steel contract if someone launches a good one."....
