US hot-rolled band prices still falling Benchmarker

Ski season is getting under way in the United States, and prices for hot-rolled band are continuing their downhill slide.

SteelBenchmarker, a price index launched by World Steel Dynamics Inc., Englewood Cliffs, N.J., AMM and Metal Bulletin, said the U.S. hot-rolled band price Dec. 11 was $596 per tonne, f.o.b. mill, down $11 (or 1.8 percent) from $607 per tonne two weeks ago—the ninth consecutive decline reported by SteelBenchmarker for U.S. hot-rolled band. The current U.S. price is down $102 per tonne (14.6 percent) from the peak price reported July 24.....
