Inconel attracts top bids in military e-auction

An Alabama buyer offered $700,000, or $9.53 a pound, for Inconel 625 alloy scrap in an electronic auction of U.S. Defense Department material that finished Tuesday evening.
The Inconel is in matrix roll form, with less than 1 percent of ferrous, nonferrous and non-metallic contaminants, according to the auction list. The alloy combines nickel, chromium and molybdenum.....
