Alcan to launch R&D initiative in France

Alcan Inc. said Thursday that it is launching a research and development initiative in France that will focus on pot cell technology as part of its AP series aluminum smelting technology.
The Montreal-based company said the initiative is part of a target to develop a 20-percent more energy efficient and environmentally friendly cell through the accelerated introduction of new technologies.....
