Three units of copper producer Asarco LLC have filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors as part of the parent company's efforts to settle a mountain of environmental and asbestos liabilities.
Southern Peru Holding LLC, Asarco Exploration Co. Inc. and AR Sacaton LLC all filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to papers submitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Corpus Christi, Texas, which is handling the....
