Spot ferrovanadium sales light as end of year nears

Spot sales of ferrovanadium have slowed as some steel companies prepare to shut down for the last week of December and consumers run down stocks to balance their books.

"There are only a couple of small spot sales out there, not much happening," a trader said. "I'd say about 96 percent of business is contract. Part of that dearth is that we're approaching year-end, and most plants have shutdown dates in the last week of December."....
