Quanex’s Atmosphere purchase adds niche to its heat-treat business

Quanex Corp.'s acquisition of metal heat-treater Atmosphere Annealing Inc. will serve as a gateway into a niche part of the heat-treating business, a company spokesman said.
Quanex has the capability to heat-treat long bars, while Atmosphere treats pieces, something the Houston-based company hasn't previously been involved with, the spokesman said.
"It's a good little strategic fit," he said, adding that it advances Quanex's efforts to be a one-stop shop for its Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive customers.....
