Production at Altonorte cut 50% as labor talks continue [UPDATE]

Production at Xstrata Plc's Altonorte copper smelter in Chile has been cut by 50 percent after workers launched a strike to protest the company's latest pay offer.
Labor talks between the two sides are continuing and a Xstrata spokesman said the company remained confident that a new labor deal could be reached.
"We're safely running the smelter at about half capacity," the spokesman said. "The discussions are continuing and we're pretty positive we can find a resolution."....
