Harris Steel agrees to buy LEC’s wire, mesh manufacturing assets

Harris Steel Group Inc., Toronto, has agreed to purchase the wire and mesh manufacturing business and assets of LEC Steel Inc., Brantford, Ontario.

The purchase price was estimated at Canadian $16.5 million ($14.3 million), including the assumption of certain liabilities and C$4.2 million ($3.6 million) that would be allocated to intangible assets such as goodwill, executives....
