China’s stainless list prices unlikely to change

Chinese stainless producers are likely to keep January domestic list prices unchanged due to sluggish demand, industry participants predict.

"The spot market has been quite weak recently. It is the off-season now, and many traders are under financial pressure for year-end loan repayments," said an executive at Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co. Ltd., Shanxi, China, the country's largest stainless producer. "It's better to keep prices unmoved to avoid more pressure for dealers and to support market sentiment."....
