WCI’s conservation tab at $1.7M in EPA deal

It will cost WCI Steel Inc., Warren, Ohio, about $1.7 million to settle environmental claims against its predecessor company under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.

The agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) includes a $625,000 settlement payment and reflects liabilities incurred by WCI when it acquired the assets of the predecessor company May 1.....
