Taiyuan anticipates higher stainless output

China's largest stainless steel producer, Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co. Ltd., is planning to raise stainless production by 70 to 80 percent to 2 million tonnes in 2007. The company's rough production plan also calls for output of 2 million tonnes of carbon steel next year

The northern China steelmaker expects to produce between 1.1 million and 1.2 million tonnes of stainless steel this year, up about 24 percent from 2005.
