Zinc premiums under pressure as LME stocks grow

An end-of-year slowdown continues to put pressure on zinc premiums as stocks slowly build up in London Metal Exchange warehouses.

Despite the slowdown—which has seen LME prices erode since the start of the month—sources said premiums for special high grade zinc are steady at 12 and 13 cents per pound.

Premiums for die-casting alloys Nos. 3 and 7 remain between 21 and 22 cents per pound, No. 5 is 23 to 24 cents per pound and No. 2 is between 25 and 26 cents per pound.....
