Votorantim looking to import nickel concentrates

Brazilian electrolytic and matte nickel producer Votorantim Metais (VM) is seeking to import 4,000 tonnes of sulfide nickel concentrates to feed its Fortaleza de Minas nickel matte plant, company superintendent João Bosco said Thursday.
"This would allow us to work at the 10,000-tonne full capacity at Fortaleza de Minas," Bosco said.
Ore could possibly be sourced from Canada, Australia or Africa, he said.
VM purchased the Fortaleza de Minas plant from Rio Tinto Brasil around three years ago, when it had officially only two years' reserves of sulfide ore left at its Serra de Fortaleza nickel mine.....
