Boeing quarterly aluminum scrap auction sees prices rise about 7%

Winning bids for Boeing Co. aluminum scrap to be generated in the first quarter were typically 7 percent higher than in September's auction for fourth-quarter material.
All four lots of "pucks," or briquetted borings, went to Spectro Alloys Corp., Rosemount, Minn. Spectro will pay the Chicago-based aircraft maker 78.635 cents a pound for two of the lots and 77.257 cents a pound for the other two.
