Alcan’s Alma workers vote 90% in favor of labor pact

Unionized workers at Alcan Inc.'s Alma smelter in Quebec have voted overwhelmingly in favor of the Montreal-based company's contract offer.
More than 90 percent of the 400,000-tonne-a-year aluminum smelter's 800 workers voted to accept the contract, which takes effect Jan. 1 and will run through the end of 2011, an Alcan spokesman said.....
