Former Timet exec Entrekin asked to return as president

A top post at Titanium Metals Corp. that has been in flux for a little more than a year—held by four different people during that period—has been awarded to a returning former executive.

Charles H. Entrekin, who left Timet in late 2002, has rejoined the titanium producer as president and chief operating officer, Timet said late last week.

In December 2002, as Timet struggled to "streamline" its operations and reduce costs during the business tailspin that followed the Sept 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Entrekin left Timet along with the company's then chief financial officer. Their jobs were assumed by other executives and were not immediately filled.

Entrekin's reappearance at Timet is the latest in a series of reshuffling moves during the past year or so since the retirement in November 2005 of J. Landis Martin, Timet's chairman, chief executive officer and president. At that time, the company's then chief operating officer for North America, Robert Musgraves, and Christian Leonhard, chief operating officer for Europe, became Timet's co-presidents. Timet's controlling shareholder, Dallas investor Harold C. Simmons, assumed the chairman and chief executive titles.....
