AK ‘puzzled’ by IAM comment about latest counterproposal

AK Steel Corp., Middletown, Ohio, said it got a puzzle for Christmas and accused the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) of playing games in their labor talks.
IAM Local Lodge 1943 presented the company with a counterproposal Friday aimed at ending a nearly 10-month lockout of hourly production and maintenance workers at AK Steel's Middletown plant. About 1,800 plant workers have been off the job since March 1, when their previous contract expired. Some 2,100 workers were affected originally, but the rest have retired or resigned since then.....
