Chaparral mulls expansion as construction rises

Chaparral Steel Co., Midlothian, Texas, is considering expanding its operations through some capital projects, executives said during a recent earnings conference call.
Tommy A. Valenta, Chaparral Steel's president and chief executive officer, said that they don't have any concrete plans yet, but are exploring projects that would optimize current assets. "In optimizing our assets, we would be looking primarily at our operations in Virginia. We are currently exploring the possibility of adding additional Z-piling capacity and expanding our wide-flange beam range at this facility," he said.....
