Rolled items to soften after strong qtr. Aleris

Steven J. Demetriou, president and chief executive officer of Aleris International Inc., apparently believes in public report cards for the newly created company's segments.

"Stronger than expected performance in rolled products more than offset weaker performance in aluminum recycling," Aleris said in its first-quarter earnings release. "Our aluminum recycling segment is not yet performing to our expectations."
Last summer, before the creation of Aleris through merger had occurred, Demetriou was the newly recruited president and chief executive officer of the rolling mill segment, then called Commonwealth Industries Inc.....
