Powder metal shipments stride higher in '04

Powder metal shipments gained strength again in 2004 as the industry returned to a pattern of growth that was broken earlier in the decade, the Metal Powder Industries Federation said.
North American powder metal shipments climbed 6.5 percent to 581,536 short tons last year vs. an increase of just 2 percent in 2003, David L. Schaefer, president of the federation and vice president of business development at Cloyes Gear & Products Inc., Fort Smith, Ark., told the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials in Montreal.....
