Veteran trader Alter Goldstein named Schnitzer vice president

Veteran scrap trader Alter Goldstein has joined Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc. as its new vice president of export sales.
Goldstein's responsibilities will include the Asian export trading business for Schnitzer's current metals recycling operations, the Portland, Ore.,-based scrap processor and exporter said in a statement.
Goldstein has more than 30 years' experience working for metals trading firms, including Philipp Brothers, Amalgamet, Clarendon Ltd. and Glencore Ltd. He headed up the ferrous scrap trading operations for Glencore in the United States until his retirement in 1997. He will be based in the New York area.....
