Timken steel tube facility in Ohio prepares for final stage of closure

Timken Co., Canton, Ohio, is finalizing plans to close one of its Ohio steel plants.
Workers at the Wooster Township tube plant will be transferred to a nearby facility by the end of this year, according to Stan Jasionowski, president of United Steelworkers union Local 1123, which represents workers at the plant.
"They've been in the process (of closing the plant) for the past couple of years," Jasionowski said when asked if the closure was unexpected. "They said they were going to close it." The company has moved production to Timken's Gambrinus facility for the past 18 months or so, he added.....
