Asia key as year-to-date lead, zinc production, consumption increase

While August figures were mixed, year-to-date global production and consumption of lead and zinc increased modestly from a year earlier on the back of Chinese activity, according to the latest data from the London-based International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG).Mine production of zinc reached 8.44 million tonnes in August, the second-highest monthly total this year, but refined zinc production was 8.59 million tonnes and consumption was 8.89 million tonnes-the second-lowest monthly totals this year.....
