Pacific Rail irked by 'misleading' effort to block auto shredder plan

Executives of Pacific Rail Industries are crying foul over a series of mailings sent to voters in Colton, Calif., urging them to sign a petition aimed at blocking the company's plan to install an auto shredder.
The flyers reportedly show stacks of wrecked autos waiting to be shredded, but Pacific Rail executives said the pictures are misleading and exaggerate the scale of the shredding operation that it plans to put in Colton.
A Pacific Rail spokesman told a local newspaper that Colton residents would never see anything like that at Pacific Rail's yard because the company must build a wall and install landscaping around its shredder plant. He complained that the mailing misrepresents how Pacific Rail's facility would be run.....
