Europe ups ferrous scrap ante in anticipation of Turkish buys

European ferrous scrap exporters have raised their offering prices by about $10 a tonne on expectations that a Turkish spending spree looms, although no cargoes have yet been booked at these higher levels.

Exporters in western Europe are looking for at least $225 a tonne for the 60-40 blend of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melting steel scrap, and $230 for an 80-20 blend of those grades delivered to Turkey, Rotterdam-based traders said.....
