Inco starts up hydromet plant in Newfoundland

In what was called a "significant milestone" for the Voisey's Bay nickel project, Inco Ltd.'s chairman and chief executive officer cut the ribbon Thursday on the company's demonstration hydrometallurgical plant in Argentia, Newfoundland.
"We believe hydromet technology can play an important part in the future of the Voisey's Bay project and will help to position Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador at the forefront of mineral processing technology worldwide," Inco chief Scott Hand said at ceremonies marking the start-up.....
