GNW, B&B Metals latest smelters to draw EPA fire over air emissions

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has cited two Midwest secondary smelters for allegedly violating air emissions rules while operating aluminum sweat furnaces at their yards.

The EPA's Region 5 office in Chicago said it filed separate administrative complaints against GNW Aluminum Inc., Alliance, Ohio, and B&B Metals Processing Co. Inc., Newton, Wis. GNW faces a possible $104,898 penalty for its alleged violations, while B&B Metals could be slapped with a $96,572 fine....
