Brazil mining magnate plans pelletizing plant

Brazilian mining magnate Eike Batista is seeking the support of Rio de Janeiro state for a new export-oriented iron ore pelletizing plant to be located at SÃ£o JoÃ£o da Barra, sources close to the state governor said.The capacity of the pellet plant hasn't yet been announced, but it would start up in 2008 in an investment totalling $1.2 billion, which will also include the construction of port facilities at SÃ£o JoÃ£o da Barra and an iron ore slurry pipe to bring ore from mines in Minas Gerais state, the sources said.....
