Hydro claims $100M in damages from Tadaz

Norsk Hydro ASA is claiming more than $100 million in damages from Tajik Aluminium Plant (Tadaz) in a dispute about metal supplies in 2004, according to industry sources.
The Norwegian aluminum producer has taken the smelter to the London Court of International Arbitration for alleged breach of contract, sources familiar with the case said. Under the contract Hydro signed with Tadaz in 1993, Hydro had been receiving metal from the smelter for tolling. The parties signed a similar contract in 2003, but Hydro filed a lawsuit claiming damages from the smelter when shipments....
